お正月のいけばな：Ikebana for New Year

お正月のいけばなクラスです。お正月にふさわしい松、菊、南天、熊笹を使っていけてみました。いつもよりに増して“和風”らしいいけばなでした。

We made arrangements for New Year in Japanese style.  The materials are "Matsu (Pine)", "Kiku (Daisy)", "Nanten (Holly Berry)", and " Sasa (Bamboo Grass)" which are all traditional and common botanical materials for Japanese new year.

ダンウッディークラスの生徒さん、お免状修得！Our students at the Dunwoody Class received Ikenobo certifications!

ダンウディークラスの生徒さん達が池坊のお免状を頂きました。こちらは中伝を修得（お許し）を頂いたMiwaさん。おめでとうございます！これからもがんばってくださいね！この他、数人の生徒さんがお免状を取得しました。皆さん、おめでとうございます！

Our students at the Dunwoody class received the certification of Ikenobo Ikebana.  Here is Miwa received "Chuden" (Intermediate level).  Congratulations, Miwa!  Keep it up the good work!  Beside Miwa, there are few students who received the Chuden in this year.  Congratulations, everyone!

At the Dunwoody class of Ikenobo Ikebana, we applied all the students to the certification program as they wished.  (It is highly recommended by by our instructors).  Please contact us if you have any questions.

ダンウッディークラス：2013年最後の仕上げとお食事会 The last regular lesson of Dunwoody Class in 2013 & Lunch Gathering

ダンウッディークラスも年末の閉めに入りました。年末には、ホリデーをテーマにしたいけばなクラスがありますが、レギュラーのクラスはこの数週間で終盤です。

Dunwoody class is getting into the final sessions of this year.  The class will be offering "holiday-theme Ikebana" classes in this month, yet regular class will be over in few weeks.

レギュラークラスの生徒さん達の中でも、自由花のレッスンも応用に入りました。同じ花材を使っても、個々に違う表現がありますね。

Few students from the regular class are in the final stage of Jiyuka (free-style).  It is surprising to see that students' expressions are very even though we used the same flower materials.

 

 


お稽古の後は、年末のお食事会でした。参加できなかった生徒さんもありましたので残念でした。チラシ寿司をメインに、先生がお作りになった白和えとあげ出し豆腐などを頂きました。とても楽しいひと時でした。今度は、ホリデー・テーマのいけばなです。最初はクリスマスです！

We also enjoyed our year-end lunch after our lesson.  We missed several students could not make for this lunch gathering...  Main dish was "Chirashi-sushi", and also we enjoyed the dishes that Yamaoka-sensei prepared for us such as the Shiraae (Mixed vegetables with Tofu), Agedashi-dofu (Fried Tofu steak in sauce), and more. The party was so much fun.  All the students will try the holiday theme Ikebana from next week.  The first is for Christmas!
